After the play, I'm glad to say it went really well. Jane gave me some gorgeous roses. Sadly those roses died rather quickly. So I decide to take pictures of them :) They came out pretty good though the lighting was a little off. Thanks again for the flowers, jane :) Start looking at the pictures from October you can start voting for your favorites on Saturday November 1st

So, I'm not going to have a post up with new content this weekend so I guess I'll go through the printing process. I have to print some photos for my project for class so I thought I would show you the process from beginning to end. First, the camera obviously you have to take the photo, I use a Cannon rebel XS camera. Second you go though the editing process the first and second photos shown are edits as they were made. Then you have to make test strips, like in dark room Photography. Unlike dark room where you set different times to find the best exposure in digital you alter with different filters such as: Exposure, Brightness and Contrast, and Saturation. After printing test strips you choose the best change and apply it to the photo. Then you have your final print. The picture I took of the print was a little off but the print looks great. :)

Sometimes you are want to tell a story. For my photography project at school we were given the theme dealing with the past. With the help of the lovely lady in the pictures we came up with Dealing with the loss of a friend and solider. There are many people dealing with things like this. I hope this captures the feelings. Thank you to all those past and presently enrolled in the military. Do you recognize this picture from last months favorites? Have you voted for your September Favorites? so, here we have a portrait. a very happy person right. this happens to be the only pic i took of our little photo shoot, that he is actually smiling and not moving. He's also sitting on the edge of a cliff. I believe he had just said he was going to jump and i made face and i happened to catch his grin.
Our friend, jesse, is in the rule of thirds. If you were to draw a tic tac board on the picture he would be in the leftmost portion fitting rule of thirds. (little photo jargon for you :p) There is a lot of detail in this photo but not overwhelming so. the photo isn't to light or to dark. it was cloudy when we took the picture so the clouds acted as a nice diffuser, so the sun wasn't harsh and he didn't have to squint. tell me what you think :) Don't forget to pic your favorite picture from the month of September. ![]() So what do we see here? A tower right? Its the bell tower on campus. So where was this shot? probably not to far away but obviously lower right. So in class we were using some new lenses. Normally the lense that I use is a 55 mm lense. This was I believe a 100 mm. It might have been 300 mm (I will have to double check). Sooo, we have established I wasn't super close because of the larger lenses. Our new lab is in a newly renovated ... basement. yes you read that right. I took this picture from the basement of a building. Some things I like about this picture are the contrasting colors. The red sets off the blue in the sky then you have the contrast in the green foliage. I love that you can see the details in the bricks and you can see into the bell tower, almost through it. This picture is unedited. :) let me know what you think in the comments below |
